The 2023 Mel Nading Award for Exemplary Search and Rescue Practice was awarded to Juneau Mountain Rescue for their exemplary service and extreme professionalism  affecting five search and rescue operations that involved complex and lengthy rescues in difficult and dangerous conditions. The operations and planning sections exhibited outstanding innovation and leadership, and the field team leaders promoted the safety of all field respondres in difficult conditions.
